Gift of the Gab Web Design began in 2017, almost by accident. At the time, I was running social media advertising for our family groundworks business and needed a website to support it. I built one myself, and before long other local businesses started asking who had created our website. Soon after that, they began asking if I could build one for them too.
What started as a simple solution for our own business quickly grew through word of mouth. Over the years, we’ve worked with clients locally and across the UK, creating hundreds of websites for small businesses. I’ve honestly lost count. The focus has always been on building practical, well thought out websites that support how a business actually works, without unnecessary complexity.
In 2021, my daughter Maddie joined the business after returning from university, bringing fresh creativity and ideas. Together, we’ve continued to grow the Gab into a trusted, family run web design service, passionate about creating websites that help small businesses feel confident online.
I’m a happily married mum of four, with children aged 30, 26, 19 and 15, and a very proud Granny to our five year old grandson. Originally from Lincolnshire, I moved to West Sussex in the mid-nineties and have called it home ever since, settling in the Midhurst and Petworth area and becoming part of a close-knit local community.
Alongside running the business, I’m also the main carer for my daughter, who is autistic and relies on me for her schooling and day to day support. Because of this, my working life doesn’t always look traditional, and you’ll often find me working from the school car park during her school sessions. It’s one of the reasons Gift of the Gab has grown in a way that’s flexible, human, and built around real life rather than rigid working patterns.
My husband Jason and I have been together for what feels like forever, and he’s very much my business partner in the Gab. He tends to stay publicly quiet, but behind the scenes he’s a solid support and definitely knows how to throw his weight around when needed.
When I’m not working, I love to read, knit, and unwind with a cold beer. I’m also a big music fan, with a soft spot for Pink Floyd, Mötley Crüe, and Elton John.
I’m based in beautiful Wales, where I live with my wife and our two cats—who, let’s be honest, completely rule the household. I joined Gift of the Gab in 2021, and it’s been an incredible experience watching the company grow and being part of its journey.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me with my nose in a book, glued to a good reality TV binge, or exploring the stunning Welsh countryside on a hike. I’m also passionate about all things art—whether it’s sketching, painting, or crafting. Creativity is at the heart of everything I do, and I love bringing that energy to our team!
